Workplan

Work Package 1 – Project, anagement, communication and dissemination

Objectives:

  • Efficient overall management of project;
  • Ensure that goals&objectives are defined and visible;
  • Monitor progress between planned&actual activities;
  • Ensure that the TOK plan is followed up;
  • Ensure that EC project reports, deliverables&milestones are met;
  • Ensure that successful distribution and exploitation of the projects results;
  • Comunication and Dissemination activities.

Description of work and role:

  • Overall management and risk contingency planning for the project;
  • Technical Project Management;
  • Intellectual property rights;
  • Training activities;
  • Dissemination activities and Outreach activities.

Work Package 2 – Model definition

Objectives:

  • Test and use different modelling techniques from data mining of energy related records to first principles modelling, from deterministic to stochatic approach, from classic to neural model;
  • Obtain a final model. The factors that will be considered in the modelling phase may be: Technical, type of machinery, electrical loads, energy production and distribution;
    External, outside environmental conditions;
  • Specific, number of patients, no of analyses carried out.

Description of work and role:

  • Review of the national and international standards on energy efficiency in buildings, building energy labelling, computation of energy consumption in buildings;
  • Analysis on commercial simulation tools for energy consumption evaluation.
    Development of simple building simulators in Matlab environment.

Work Package 3 – Test on selected models

Objectives:

  • The models selected in WP2 will be tested on the field in order to validate the theoretical work carried out during WP2 and point out improvement strategies;
  • The testing of WP2 selected models will be carried out in at least two medical centres among those providing their support to the project;
  • The testing will provide evidence relevant to the degree to which the selected models are accurate representations of the real world from the perspective of their intended uses;
  • Based on the WP3 model validation a best suited static model will be defined.

Description of work and role:

  • Define testing methodology and period for each parameter;
  • Collect appropriate existing data from selected medical centers;
  • Comparison of the selected models with the data collected Participation per Partner

Work Package 4 – What if analysis

Objectives:

  • Carry out a systematic sensitivity analysis of the model;
  • Disclosure the effect of the change of some variables and parameters under appropriate assumptions;
  • Define Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in order to assist the user to formulate realistic future scenarios and compute suitable risk-based indexes.

Description of work and role:

  • Review and analysis of the most appropriate testing methodology design for models on energy consumption in medical centers.
  • Definition of variables, data collection, validations, quality measurements.

Work Package 5 – Development and testing of E3s prototype tool

Objectives:

  • Correctly estimate the actual energy consumption;
  • Correctly predict the financial and energetic value of the intervention on the equipment;
  • Build a robust software with an user friendly interface.

Description of work and role:

  • Setting up the input variables as suggested by WP4 results;
  • Design and develop the tools procedures for a correct estimate of actual energy consumption;
  • Design and develop the tool procedures for a correct prediction of financial and energetic value of the intervention on the equipment;
  • Testing and validate the results with the fine tuning of variables and methods with a strict and continuous information exchange with WP3 and WP4 teams.
